Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Prioritize demand and plan projects across their supported business area and assigned application clusters as defined within the governance model Assess portfolio activities and compare to available resources and constraints Work closely with aligned business partners in the development and execution of defined strategies and project development, facilitating the smooth adoption of new technology-based solutions Facilitate the solutioning of key business critical / priority issues and aligning the project budget accordingly (make most of the dollar being spent) Provide effective project communication and governance plans to business partners Work closely with IT financial analyst to provide oversight and detailed reporting on overall business unit financials on a regular basis Control, monitor and report on a consolidated set of projects, programs, and associated changes for delivery across the LOB Flags and monitors emerging issues and recommends necessary actions and works with Project Managers to course correct Makes trade-off decisions in terms of budget and resources where required for projects under their management, setting priorities and managing interdependencies across a portfolio Provides support and mentorship to Project Managers Attend industry conferences staying apprised of changing technology trends and potential future solutions to be considered within the various business units EDUCATION - DEGREES/CERTIFICATES Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a closely related discipline required Program/Project Management Professional (PMI PMP) or equivalent certification preferred EXPERIENCE Applied experience with managing large scale, complex IT projects Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering complex projects Experience and familiarity with Insurance and Financial Services business systems strongly preferred Experience in project management, SDLC, ITIL and application or infrastructure solution development and deployment Experience managing projects with variable staffing including onsite/offshore execution models Preferred Level Typical candidates will possess 5+ years of relevant experience Experience and familiarity with Insurance and Financial Services business systems strongly preferred SKILLS Ability to manage demand from multiple clients, and source services from multiple providers (both internal and vendor) Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Sound business and technical acumen Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools Knowledge of organizational change management concepts and business process improvement methods Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and stakeholders: mobilize an d motivate teams: set direction and approach: resolve conflict: deliver tough messages with grace. Execute with limited information and ambiguity.
