Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Director of Destination Marketing will have the following responsibilities developing strategy and approach for defined destination(s), customer segments and customer origin; developing processes, communication standards and tools to ensure we are driving marketing activity to meet revenue and share targets for defined destination(s); cultivating, building, and leveraging in-market relationships to improve effectiveness of Marketing activities; measuring and reporting on destination performance and communicating with in-market stakeholders; supporting selling of Cooperative Marketing initiatives to hotels and management companies; budgeting responsibility for team level expenditures and approved Destination Marketing initiatives. People Management and talent development will also be critical to this role and will include ongoing staffing and hiring decisions. The Director will need to effectively lead a team spread across multiple physical locations with a mix of office-based and remote-based Team Members. The Director of Destination Marketing will also be responsible for not only creating a high-functioning team with a positive culture, but also helping grow and develop our future leaders. Other key priorities are listed below: Ensure that each destination has a tailored annual marketing plan, including offline and digital destination-specific campaigns throughout the year, leveraging national campaigns wherever possible and adapting to business needs as they arise Build, promote and execute hotel co-op funded destination marketing activity and perform co-op execution for assigned destinations Raise and collect co-op funds for destination marketing campaigns Support performance of non-contracted leisure business by being accountable for commercial channel performance to the destination (including brand.com, CRM, Drive Radio, OTA, GDS, AAA, AARP) Support group business for the market, including optimization of digital RFP generation Cultivate and leverage key in-market relationships, partnerships and resources, including OTA market managers Conduct joint planning with hotels as appropriate to ensure tight integration, including scheduled destination-level marketing meetings covering trends, insights and performance Provide support to all hotels in the destination to optimize their online and offline hotel presence, with a particular focus on growing book direct revenue and channel mix Ensure that all hotels in the destination benefit from the full range of corporate marketing and digital services, including SEO, PPC, web retailing and social media Partner with colleagues in other primary and secondary destinations to build outbound source-market activity across markets Build and sustain an entrepreneurial and agile team culture Key Competencies and Desired Attributes: Strategic thinking and decision making Business performance and accountability Communication Leadership and coaching Influence and collaboration Creativity and innovation Relationship management Effective time management and project management skills What are we looking for? To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience: BA/BS Bachelor s Degree A minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience A minimum of five (5) years of experience and knowledge of integrated marketing strategies or Digital Marketing and eCommerce experience A minimum of five (5) years of experience reviewing data, manipulating data, and developing insights A minimum of five (5) years of experience presenting findings (story-telling) to internal and/or external customers and providing strategic recommendations A minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Ability to travel as required It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions: MA/MS Master s Degree A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience A minimum of seven (7) years of experience and knowledge of integrated marketing strategies or Digital Marketing and eCommerce experience A minimum of seven (7) years of experience reviewing data, manipulating data, and developing insights A minimum of seven (7) years of experience presenting findings (story-telling) to internal and/or external customers and providing strategic recommendations A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.
