Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Role Summary: In this role, you will be an application systems engineer who enjoys working with our customers and our internal GE design team to design, develop, integrate, test, and certify autonomous system solutions for our customers. Essential Responsibilities: You will: Plan system engineering activities for the entire systems engineering lifecycle from design through certification of GE autonomous systems Define technical concepts and system implementation options / solutions, and translate them into system requirements Provide technical oversight to on-going product developments Integrate AIROS software, GEAS products, on customer vehicle, and then verify and flight test Troubleshoot vehicle, system, hardware and software problems Utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems Identify technology gaps for AIROS products, and define enabling / breakthrough technologies Identify product / design re-use opportunities to reduce development cost and risk Document technical data needed for certification Participate in relevant industry standards committees, working groups, and conferences Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university Minimum 5 years of prior experience in a systems engineer role Must be willing to travel up to customer and GE sites Eligibility Requirements: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen Desired Characteristics: Experience in existing automated systems, hardware and / or software Experience in leading technical discussions with customers to document requirements High aptitude for problem solving MATLAB Simulink experience Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Technological proficiency, including relevant engineering tools Ability to successfully work in a team environment Participation / experience on related industry committee activities.
