Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This position is responsible for all design, engineering, permitting, budgeting, bidding, managing, and constructing a variety of in-water and upland facility projects. The Civil Engineering Project Manager will establish engineering strategies, determine the engineering scope for internal and external resources, and then schedule and manage the construction of project. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list is not intended to detail all aspects of the assigned work but is representative of the job s overall responsibilities) Live Vigor Values Everyday Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate site development design including grading, drainage, utility, erosion control, and facility design. Prepare construction plans and specifications, design details, permit responses, and construction support services throughout the project. Prepare technical reports and calculations for jurisdictional agencies Attend design meetings with consultants, municipalities, and agencies. Manage multiple projects at once, keeping them on-schedule and within budget. Understand design and drawing production effort as well as staff, consultant, and resource management Provide technical advice to members of the project team and contribute to the engineering portion of the project s business and project strategies. Assist with compiling and managing complex work packages for the project. Create and change project drawings and sketches using AutoCAD and other design software. Review vendor and contractor provided project drawings for errors, omissions and other design functional and manufacturability issues Perform other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Consultants and construction contractors. INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS: This position maintains a variety of professional relationships and must be able to determine the appropriate level of communication and interaction for various situations and circumstances. The ability to effectively influence decisions through respectful interactions with others both within the organization and outside of the organization is essential in this role. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: B.S. in Civil Engineering. Current WA P.E. license required. Seven to ten years of experience in a responsible position with exposure to technical applications, management of projects and staff interaction. Strong design skills using AutoCAD for land development design including the areas of grading, drainage, streets, sewers, storm drains and utilities. Experience in the development of bid packages and managing contractors and budgets. Ability to apply proven principles of civil engineering. Superior leadership and interpersonal abilities. Expertise in the preparation of grading plans, utility plans, site plans and the preparation of cost estimates. Excellent communication and organizational skills and a desire to function in a position of high visibility both internal and external to the company.
