Job Responsibilities and Requirements: POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the analytical lead for James Hardie's retail business: (80%) Analyze data to provide actionable insights to the retail business Develop and track key metrics to identify opportunities for improvement Run scenarios to understand the correlation between activities and results to optimize James Hardie's retail strategy in each market Ensure the quality and accuracy of data used by the business Collaborate with Sales leaders to ensure that appropriate changes are made based on analyses and that key learnings are incorporated into the sales process Provide information on performance trends and competitive intelligence to senior business leaders to support strategic planning, forecasting and goal setting Develop, streamline and automate key reports used to communicate business performance: (20%) Participate in the design, development and testing of new analytical reporting and business intelligence tools Ensure that executive dashboard reporting accurately portrays business performance and trends Automate existing reports and develop business rules to drive exception reporting Set standards for best practices in terms of how to collect, manage and publish data for the business Manage the evolution of the analytical roadmap for James Hardie's retail business The position responsibilities outlined above are in no way to be construed as all encompassing. Position Requirements Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills and a natural curiosity for understanding the why behind the business results Excel power user; experience with SQL or other relational database tools a plus Experience with using and creating reports / dashboards in BI tools such as Tableau, SAP Business Objects or related data visualization tools a plus Proven ability to synthesize large data sets from multiple sources into actionable insights that business leaders can understand Experience structuring market tests to measure the impact of different variables (e.g., price elasticity, inventory levels, promotions) Ability to proactively manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, change oriented environment, yet flexible enough to adapt to changes Strong bias for results and can work independently as well as interact effectively across functions and at all levels Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals Confidence and ability to use data to influence others in the organization and outline what the business should do differently Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (e.g., finance, economics, statistics) and/or relevant quantitative work experience 3 - 5 years of analytical experience working with large data sets Proficiency in Excel, SQL or other relational database tools Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience in CPG or retail industry a plus.
