Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Trademark Paralegal will provide support to a team of trademark attorneys with significant direct contact with IP attorneys. The Trademark Paralegal will work alongside these attorneys handling trademark and copyright prosecution and IP litigation. Areas of Responsibility: Management of all aspects of the firm s trademark and copyright portfolios Maintain the docket and ensuring that all filing deadlines are met in a timely manner Draft and electronically file all U.S. federal and state trademark and copyright applications Prepare trademark clearances for attorney's review in connection with full trademark search results Respond to office actions, renewals and declarations of use, and preparation of reporting correspondence Prepare and assist with filing responses to office actions and Section 8 & 15 affidavits; file assignments via the USPTO website; conduct routine online searches Case management support for all IP litigation matters, logistical support for all depositions, hearings and trials Document management for all matters with the firm's e-Discovery Department Maintain and update database of patent portfolios and internal/external points of contact Assist IP team attorney liaison to ensure patent-related agreements (in-licenses and research agreements) are appropriately tracked and monitored, with payments and reporting deadlines met Requirements Qualifications and Experience: Strong experience in trademark prosecution Experience with trademark prosecution software; experience with Alt Legal is a plus Excellent computer software and research skills relating to trademarks Demonstrated leadership skills Team-oriented mindset and strong work ethic Ability to multitask 3-5 years of experience with trademark law Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA upon graduation.
