Job Responsibilities and Requirements: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Understand supply and demand and routinely conduct research to stay informed of market conditions Contribute to and support the achievement of defined category performance targets Assist business partners and sourcing teammates with supplier selection, price negotiation, and bid evaluation processes Liaise with Legal to negotiate terms of contracts between the supplier and the business Participate in negotiation strategy development and the competitive negotiation process including execution of NDAs, SOWs, MSAs, etc. Participate in or lead competitive RFXs, leveraging Sourcing Execution Center as necessary Communicate regularly and proactively with business partners and other stakeholders Evaluate and measure vendor performance to ensure performance meets expectations, including lead time, contract commitment, etc. Provide ongoing support for supplier onboarding and relationship building Maintain positive relationships with vendors and visit vendor sites, as appropriate Support cyclical and ad-hoc supplier business reviews Provide input and data analysis on the sourcing process, spend management, and benefits Build relationships and effectively partner across varied functions with internal stakeholders, external suppliers, agencies, and colleagues to influence change Leverage industry associations, peers and stakeholders to identify and implement category best practices Proactively identify and recommend category sourcing strategies Identify opportunities and support planning, implementation and execution of category strategies Support the development, evaluation, and presentation of business case and cost/benefit analysis to stakeholders on sourcing process, spend management, and benefits Partner with leaders to develop plans for implementation and change management for departmental initiatives Understand and follow the Non-Merchandise Procurement Policy, educating stakeholders as needed Balance speed and urgency with cost savings in vendor negotiations Actively prioritize workload for optimum benefit Implement and refine appropriate elements of category strategy Maintain constructive working relationships with Legal, Finance, GapTech and brands Proactively advance the health of business partner relationships Proactively manage relationships with key suppliers Provide input and support for continuous improvement programs within the department Minimum of years professional experience in management consulting, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or equivalent experience Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related discipline; MBA or advanced degree preferred Experience in dynamic organization with experience in sourcing Familiarity with various software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, SaaS, etc.) Familiarity with asset management, virtual and cloud computing concepts Ability to interpret and utilize data; can tell story with data Excellent planning and prioritization skills with ability to adapt to change quickly Ability to interact with senior leaders and demonstrate professional presence Demonstrated ability to effectively handle issues and challenging situations Experience planning and leading negotiations plus Ability to learn and quickly develop subject matter expertise.
