Responsibilities: Envision, develop, implement, and continuously optimize a global enterprise resiliency strategy, program and organization to protect State Street and its subsidiaries Serve as a key advisor to the Chief Information Officer and business leaders on all enterprise resiliency matters Lead, manage and integrate State Street s key resiliency programs to provide an end to end oversight of the overall resiliency posture and practice to mitigate risk and meet business, regulatory and client needs while driving efficiency into the programs and the first lines of defense Oversee the Corporate Information Security Officer (CISO) and the policies, programs and practices implement for corporate information security that focuses on innovative technologies and partnerships to reduce cybersecurity risks to safeguard State Street s information, technology and assets including client data, employee information and intellectual property. Drive a Global Business Continuity Program that governs the business in the creation of effective, risk appropriate and integrated business continuity and disaster recovery solutions to support critical client servicing and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with Global Technology Services specialists to ensure State Street s IT disaster recovery program deploys market leading resiliency solutions that evolve with advancements in technology and as changes are introduced to the environment. Oversee IT Vendor Risk Management program driving to engage with trusted vendors that meet the risk appetite of State Street while providing cost effective terms, services and solutions. Manage a Global Technology Risk and Controls function that collaborates with all IT disciplines globally to ensure key controls are implemented and tested to demonstrate IT functions are operating soundly and adhere to regulatory requirements Oversee a global Quality Assurance Lead and manage State Street s global Incident Management program, including the integration and governance of corporate and regional crisis management teams including business units and corporate support functions Plan and manage a roster of company-wide resiliency tests and exercises that integrate all disciplines of the enterprise resiliency program (disaster recovery, business continuity, information security and IT vendor management) Execute an enterprise resiliency Training and Awareness program to integrate and expand current programs to educate and influence employees to integrate resiliency principles into routine business practices Create an integrated Enterprise Resiliency Governance program to report and communicate compliance with State Street s enterprise resiliency policies and standards Effectively communicate the status of the enterprise resiliency program including key risk and technical issues and enhancements to the Board of Directors and business executives in business digestible terms Recommend enhancements and partner with key second line programs and stakeholders in the Chief Administration Office, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Compliance and Security to implement integrated, balanced and sound enterprise resiliency initiatives to ensure resiliency investments are prioritized and aligned based on risk likelihood and consequence Partner with Enterprise Data Governance, Global Human Resources, Office of Recovery & Resolution Planning and key Information Technology disciplines to integrate and implement a single source of truth and streamline tools and processes for mapping key attributes to maintain all enterprise resiliency requirements i.e. applications, business processes, employees, legal entities and locations Professionally represent State Street s enterprise resiliency program to key external constituents including clients and their Boards, regulators and vendors Foster and maintain beneficial partnerships in the private and public sector (including government agencies) to create an industry leading program by consistently benchmarking and sharing information to enhance best practices and crisis response Recruit, inspire, manage, and lead a global team of dedicated resiliency professionals while integrating and aligning resources to create an end to end view of resiliency in an efficient manner Direct a distributed matrixed workforce of resiliency champions assigned from within each business unit Devise, defend, and manage the annual global resiliency budget Qualifications The ideal candidate will be an expert in their field, with a proven ability to build and implement best practice resiliency programs within a large and multifaceted enterprise. Bachelor s degree in a related field, or equivalent professional experience Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing and shifting priorities Ability to drive complex, cross-organizational initiatives through the influencing of and negotiation with stakeholders who at times may hold competing equities Ability to engage executive level stakeholders on complex matters in a substantive manner with little to no oversight and limited guidance Ability to be a strong and compelling voice for challenge when necessary while still maintaining positive relationships with business stakeholders Ensures rigorous attention to detail in all work activities and products with excellent written and verbal communication skills Results-driven and accountability-minded with enterprise resiliency thought leadership and best practice awareness Prior experience with leading resiliency, information security and or IT infrastructure programs and disciplines is required Professional certifications (DRII or BCI) in business continuity, disaster recovery, and crisis management preferred but not required Prior experience in risk, compliance and security is preferred but not required Demonstrated ability to lead a cross-discipline team both under direct supervision and through influence and guidance to attain key goals and priorities COMPETENCIES Based on the priorities of the position, candidates must possess most or all of the following core competencies: Collaboration and Influencing Skills - As the successful candidate will work closely with the rest of Legal Division staff, senior corporate executives, and interact frequently with outside counsel and senior management, it is important that he/she be an effective team player and have a track record of building positive working relationships with business leaders and other staff functions. Simultaneously, this individual must have demonstrated a willingness to express and argue his/her point of view, even in the face of differing opinions. Communication Skills: The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and have demonstrated the ability to demystify technical legal and benefit matters and articulate clear objectives and strategies to achieve them. His or her communication style should be crisp and concise as the managing counsel will be responsible for communicating the State Street s compensation and benefit matters with both internal and external parties.
