The role is highly visible within the organization and requires working cross functionally with all levels of management in areas including: Portfolio and Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Product Development, Sales/Distribution, Client Service and the various vendors that provide services to the Funds. This individual will also provide support for ongoing reporting/relationships with the various governing bodies that oversee the Funds including the Board of Directors. Specific areas of responsibility include: Fund Oversight - ensure execution of risk focused oversight model that addresses all aspects of the Funds operations including daily/monthly net asset values, valuation, distributions, expenses, tax matters, implementation of accounting policies, new instruments, periodic review and update of offering documents issue identification, management and resolution. New Products/Changes to Existing Products - participate in new product development and change efforts, evaluate all aspects of proposals (e.g., offering documents, trading/operational model, distributions, fee structure, etc.) to identify and propose solutions to launch or modify products and implement risk-focused oversight controls. Financial Reporting and Disclosure Controls - review financial statements and regulatory filings; coordinate all audit efforts with service providers and external auditors; execute disclosure control procedures; and certify to internal controls over financial reporting. Fund Regulatory Filings, Requests, and Inquiries - review of all fund-related regulatory filings; participate in efforts to respond to regulatory requests and inquiries related to the funds. Fund Related Initiatives - lead/participate in various fund-related initiatives. Governance/Board Reporting - develop materials to summarize oversight results to funds governing bodies (e.g., Board of Directors). Management Reporting - develop materials to provide periodic reporting to management regarding results of oversight model; status of initiatives and issue resolution. 20 years experience in the investment management industry, Big 4 Public Accounting firm and/or relevant industry experience required. Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of registered investment companies from an investment, operational, regulatory, taxation and financial reporting perspective. Knowledge and experience with various asset classes (e.g., fixed income, alternatives, equities) and complex instrument types (e.g., derivatives, structured products). Ability to lead and develop a team of professionals to execute on stated objectives. Strong analytical skills with ability to evaluate issues; propose and implement solutions, with consideration for all downstream implications. Highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a cross functional team. Demonstrated thought leadership with the ability to influence and achieve results.
