The Senior Relationship Manager (SRM) is in charge of managing and developing a client s portfolio, participating in the Team s organization and ensuring appropriate administrative support Provides full-service banking and all transactions to high-net-worth individual clients through the marketing of all appropriate company services Establishes new relationships and manages existing relationship in order to generate new AUM and Revenue Co-operates with platform manager to clear pending items, improve quality and resolve problems Impact on the Business Grow revenue, increase AUM of portfolio and increase inflows of net new money (NNM), achieving growth by leveraging brand, channels and RM network Customers / Stakeholders Has regular contact and meetings with clients Ensures client s objectives are met through an appropriate selection of products within the client portfolio Ensures clients are aware of their level of risk Researches account and transaction records to resolve basic discrepancies, answer questions, or provide documentation on client activities Leadership & Teamwork Provides coaching and guidance to other RM s and creates opportunities to develop their knowledge and experience level Lead by example by exhibiting behaviours consistent with HSBC values Provide assistance to fellow Relationship Managers Work closely with other Bank Departments Operational Effectiveness & Control Works closely with other Bank Departments to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators Ensures follow-up on all risk and compliance issues (such as CCR, KYC, Compliance requests, Risk Management requests, Internal Audit requests) Minimize operational losses Major Challenges Dealing in an ever changing and stringent regulatory environment in certain jurisdictions Operating in a tough KYC processing environment Growing business in an extremely competitive market place Role Context Business vision, understanding of priorities, respect of procedures and legal environment Compliance and risk awareness Networking power Management and communication skills Efficient partnership with senior management as well as other join-up business groups Technical proficiency Commercial success Management of Risk Keeps aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with the role and acts in a manner that takes account of operational risk considerations Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which one is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy Observation of Internal Controls Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy. At least 10 years of relationship management experience in the banking sector Proven track record in asset gathering, asset growth and revenue generation Excellent commercial and negotiation skills Highly developed communication skills for use in direct client contact and problem solving Ability to provide strong financial and statistical analysis. Strong customer service focus Attention to detail and the ability to think creatively to solve problems Excellent understanding of financial markets and products Active FINRA series 7 and 63 required.
