We are looking to hire a Project Manager - Energy & Project Solutions. This position will Lead a project team or several project teams within the Projects USA organization. Oversee the management of import and/or export process to ensure compliance with US and foreign government laws and regulations. Oversee the completion of paperwork and monetary transactions associated with international distribution. Negotiate rates with carriers and other vendors. Assure proper information flow with Sales on changes and/or problems with external customers. May negotiate with clients or handle issues with Customs officials.Enhance Panalpina's position towards major EPC clients in the USA, and to meet the objectives of growth and profitability with this customer group. Initial emphasis will be focused on Fluor and Bechtel, with other EPCs such as KBR, WorleyParsons, Technip, and Jacobs may be added later as business levels with those EPCs warrant. Key Tasks Manage all aspects of the project logistics work contracted between Panalpina/Energy Solutions Projects and our clients for one or more projects, including all transport modes, all documentation, all financial transactions, and regulatory compliance. Advocate for continuous improvement with regard to safety. Ensure safe operations through training, subcontractor management, and coordination of alignment with clients' safety programs. Fully understand of all aspects of Panalpina's export packing processes and ensure a smooth process from vendor release to warehouse release. Develop an understanding of client operational requirements from a project /program level to the transactional shipment level, and ensure Panalpina compliance with those requirements. Lead smooth business implementation and handover of SOPs to operations, and ongoing monitoring of compliance in the case of new projects. Act as a liaison between our client and our internal team(s), conveying information necessary to achieve operational requirements. Attend and represent Panalpina/Energy Solutions in client meetings as required. Conduct business reviews, analyze and identify business opportunities, potential risks and make appropriate recommendation to management. Manage a favorable commercial relationship with assigned client(s) in a way that will promote customer satisfaction, business growth and profitability. Ensure that projects are managed using Key Performance Indicators and Metrics, and that Panalpina's IT systems are utilized to their maximum potential in the maintenance of the data necessary to produce and use the metrics necessary to do this. Review and coordinate customer needs and abilities with the internal applications team to formulate Electronic Data Interface (EDI) solutions Administer Scope of Work related Contractual Obligations. Manage coordination with Vendors and control shipping process Manage coordination with Clients to resolve issues related to operational matters Able to lead/supervise a Team of 5+ direct reports up to Have advanced knowledge and functional competence with Microsoft applications Full export compliance knowledge; knowledge of customs regulations a plus Full responsibility of managing all aspects of contract Identify areas where coordinators need more training. Ensure training initiatives for all Project Coordinators are met by assigned deadlines.Develop and nurture long-term partnerships with the target accounts within his/her area, translating Panprojects US and global capabilities into customer values for maintaining and continually expanding the number of projects handled by Projects USA within this account base. Manage the implementation of new projects within this target account base, including but not limited to all necessary IT related implementation and set up work (i.e. Intrac, C2C), the development of project specific KPIs, SOPs, Divisions of Responsibility, communications protocols, and destination and origin country procedures. Stay abreast of developments within Panalpina (such as IT developments, new service offerings in domestic and international transportation, changes to the IMS) that can benefit the client base and/or Panalpina in our project logistics operations. Lead and participate in regularly scheduled project client meetings with the relevant Panprojects Project Manager and client contacts. Keep the Energy Solutions Business Unit Manager, VP and the Projects VP Business Development Manager apprised of the status of the project and Projects' support of the client's requirements as well as any important issues or problems. Monitor Contract Scope of Work requirements against client requests to ensure that out of scope work is identified and appropriately addressed (work request removed or additional compensation to Panalpina requested). Monitor KPI performance vs. KPI goals with a view to continuous improvement. Communicate deficiencies with all stakeholders; idenfity requirements for improvement. Ensure that pricing and services offered to all relevant accounts are best in class. Assist in the tender management process for new projects with the target client base by sharing existing issues, rates, service offerings and other relevant aspects of Panalpina's work for the target client base. Conduct business reviews, analyze and identify business opportunities, potential risks and make appropriate recommendation to management. Manage a favorable commercial relationship with assigned accounts that will promote customer satisfaction, business growth and profitability. Ensure that all assigned accounts are managed and developed in line with the established corporate/regional strategies and all key performance indicators stipulated in the contract are fulfilled. Entertain existing and potential clients within the guidelines of the Panalpina Gifts, Entertainment and Hospitality restrictions. Travel domestically and internationally at the direction of the Head of Sales USA (VP Business Development) to participate in business meetings. Supervise the maintenance and improvement of the quality standard required by the EPC project logistics segment.
