Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This position reports to the Managing Counsel, Trademark & Copyright. Reporting to the Managing Counsel, Trademark & Copyright, the person in this role will support the R&D and IP department's trademark and copyright paralegal needs. This position will be located in Plano although some initial training in our current office in Torrance, California will likely be required. Prepare and file documents and supporting materials to prosecute and maintain U.S. trademark portfolio, including statements of use, section eight and 15 declarations Maintain docketing database and prepare quarterly trademark status reports Provide support in gathering and organizing evidence for opposition and enforcement actions Review marketing, social media, and promotional materials for trademark use compliance Conduct trademark searches and related diligence Review trademark and domain name watch notices and report on actionable infringements Prepare and manage U.S. copyright applications and record keeping File takedown notices on e-commerce and social media platforms Assist with Internet disputes and domain name transfersRespond to correspondence relating to unsolicited ideas Monitor and respond to communications/correspondence from clients, outside counsel, and parent and affiliate companies Extensive law firm or corporate law department background as a paralegal handling trademark prosecution and enforcement matters, including portfolio management, searching and clearance, oppositions and cancellations and licensing matters and/or anti-counterfeit enforcement Background with well-recognized IP docketing systems, such as Anaqua or CPA Global Strong understanding of USPTO rules and procedures Self-starter, problem-solver, detailed-oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and case organizational skills Outstanding oral and written correspondence abilities Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills Demonstrated expertise to take ownership/personal responsibility for performing tasks and resolving issuesProficiency in law department matter management systems such as Atlas and Team Connect Proficiency in Ms excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft word.
