Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The individual in this position will be highly visible, interacting with senior business leaders at the Company. The role includes responsibility for managing intellectual property matters critical to the Company's success, focusing on biologics and other life science technologies. Additional responsibilities of IP Counsel include counseling senior Company business leaders, managing I.P. disputes, patent portfolio strategy and management, outside counsel budgets and performance, I.P. competitive intelligence, and due diligence in support of business transactions. The successful candidate will have significant depth of experience in diverse aspects of patent law practice, high technical competency in the life sciences, and will be adept at serving as a trusted business advisor. QUALIFICATIONS High level of executive presence. High level of communication, organizational and analytical skills. Ability to manage in the face of ambiguity. At least 12 years post-law school experience. IP practice experience ideally in both a law firm and a bio/pharmaceutical corporate setting. EDUCATION JD or equivalent Registered Patent Attorney BS/MS/PhD in Biology, Neurology, Molecular/Cellular Biology, or an equivalent life science is required (advanced degree strongly preferred).
